2010; once again Haggai in my life.

Last night I went to the English course with my daughter talk to the school principal Peter Esteves on the possibility of bringing some foreigners to interact with students. Suddenly, I looked at the closet in front of me and read a certificate of Haggai. I asked the director if he was a graduate of the Haggai Institute who happily said: yes I am. He shared several things hat made several things came back to my mind a whirlwind of memories and emotions. We talked a lot and I was impressed as a lot of things happened in my life through Haggai http://haggai.com.br/.

In mid-1989 was impacted by reading a book that my mother had bought for her called "To lead on" from John Haggai. I had never heard of that man before or about the Haggai Institute. After reading that book I had been impacted. Very young I was taken to be a leader in my local church that had lost many young people by an oversight of the adult leadership of the Church. I became a leader just because I was the only person in the church that could play the guitar.

I thought I did not have what were the minimum requirements to become a leader. Shy, I used to have panic to pick up a microphone and speak in front of the huge Methodist Church in Cascadura. In my innocent design, being a leader was a natural talent that grew with people, ( as my with my brothers who led a group of young football in our group of friends). After reading the impressive book by John Haggai, I began to wonder whether there was such an organization in Brazil. At that time they had the facilities of the internet or instant communication as now. Well, there was according to human standards because at the weekend following a YWAM missionary Margaret Alves member of my church approached me saying that I should attend a training pretty cool. When he showed me the folder I found to be stunned seminar training site of the Haggai Institute.

I immediately called the phone number and I signed up, attending my first training. There I met Alice Jardim (a Haggai pioneer in Brazil) who prayed with me for some dreams I had. From there I went into a regional course on Baptist Church of air and met just one of the teachers go. Humberto Aragao, who was then director of the MTC (missionary training center of the Operation Mobilization) and currently director of Latin America and pastor of a Baptist church in Sao Jose dos Campos. This meeting with Pastor Humberto radically changed my life. As an engineer at Petrobras had left everything to serve Jesus in missions? This struck me very much and I started to remind me of a missionary who had called, still a medical student, a meeting of the Mission "Volantes de Cristo" in 1982.

From this meeting I took concrete steps toward missions, entered the OM was part of the CTM, attended the board of missions, helped in the first course of Urban Missions with YWAM in Rio de Janeiro and I volunteered the first year of the Kings Kids Rio de January of Margaret and Roger Muniz. Finally after 10 years of experience with mission agencies I received a visit by the director of the World Methodist Evangelism in 1995 Dr. Eddie Fox, and I was invited by Bishop Paul Lockmann for becoming a medical missionary of the Methodist Church by the World Methodist council. I had never heard of the World Council by that time.

At a dinner in a restaurant along with several international authorities Methodists, Dr Fox asked me if I knew what I wanted to missions. I drew on a napkin a trailer pulled by a van. The notional cost $ 80,000. Hard task for Eddie Fox Amazingly when he arrived in the U.S., an American pastor of Memphis James Loftin asked Eddie if you had to spend $ 100,000 on an international project what would you do? He said: I would spend. By James Loftin said that? He said at once, Evangemed.

This is the way Evangemed was created instantly . http://worldmethodist.org/evangemed.htm the ministry that would rule my life for over 13 years. Before I become a full-time missionary I have traveled to study in India at the feet of Dr Raj and Dr Peppin Arole former student of Haggai. Again the Haggai influencing my life. http://www.jamkhed.org/

With Evangemed and the World Methodist Council I have taught, preached in Russia, Estonia, Mozambique, Korea, USA, and throughout Brazil. Also the influence of Evangemed spread through Christ Medical interdenominational organization established in 1995 and I was once again presented by Humberto Aragao (Haggai leader also for many years) and it had the wonderful opportunity to serve in this interdenominational ministry throughout the Brazil for more than 10 years as president and now as secretary general. Through Evangemed and Medicos de Cristo http://medicosdecristo.org/ God led me to create the largest health events of Brasil. CENPS http://cenps2010.com.br based on my experience the biggest event of medical missions of the World http://www.medicalmissions.com

During this time also the Bishop Paul Lockmann, one of the greatest leaders I have pleasure to know personally as a friend has invited me to be one of the first lay (non Methodist clergyman) to coordinate the executive secretary of the largest missions of the ecclesiastical region of the Methodist Church in Brazil during our training of our first strategic planning Methodist, Rio de Janeiro. This office had wonderful experiences with creating the "volunteers in Mission" of Rio de Janeiro bringing leading international to train our people. I am currently on the International Board of the Southern Jurisdiction http://www.umvim.org. God used me to open mission fields of Volunteers in Mission in countries such as Estonia, Russia, Mozambique, Paraguay and even to create JUMEMI www.jumemi.org.br project for adolescents and youth.

In international routes by Gods grace I began to work as volunteer in the Atlanta-Rio sister cities committee http://atlantario.org/ and am currently the representative of the city of Atlanta in Rio de Janeiro.

I have helped to lead the formalization of the partnership's Mission Society http://www.themissionsociety.org with the Methodist Mission School in Rio de Janeiro www.escolademissoes.org.br writing and signing the contract terms. I was privileged to attend a summit of the World missions that helped write the strategic planning of the World Methodist council and also to end God used me to ewrite a small portion of Canons Methodists ( book of discipline) allowing international missions from the annual conferences in the last general council of the Methodist Church.

All this work may never have happened if one day I had not read the Book of John Haggai. I wonder how such a ministry can have such influence on people especially when I think of graduating Haggai I found the world over these contacts that I made in my international trips all over the world. I just did the "local Haggai training" and still did not have the "time" to go to Singapore and make the course of a month despite having had the privilege of being a board member of OM with Reginaldo Kruklis former international president for Haggai that powerfully influenced my life.

I am now waiting for this moment of changes waiting what the Lord will do in the next 10 years for me ,seeking opportunities to bless my children (one already studying medicine). I started to outline targets and goals and 13Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, 14I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3: 13.
